About Us
The Songmen are An International, Multi Award-winning ensemble
In 2011, we won awards in the sacred and secular categories at the prestigious Tolosa International Choral Contest and the very next year our debut album was nominated in the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards.
But Also...
... We have been singing across the UK and in Europe. Perugia in Italy holds a special place in our hearts, but we have travelled to Provence, France, up and down Germany, Ireland and Sardinia. We have also flown across the pond to the USA and back around to China. Pretty much wherever we are invited!
What About Recordings?
... well, so far, we have released two albums. For our first award-nominated album of jazz and pop classics, we stepped into the recording-studio and created “Midnight”, working with Grammy-award winning producer Bill Hare. The album features original arrangements entirely conceived by members of the group. Our second album, “A Sacred Place”, saw us retreat to a beautiful parish church in the Cotswolds to record some of our favourite and most beautiful sacred works from across the world.
We are proud to present our latest recording, an EP entitled 'Both Sides Now', available for digital download. It features six songs, each reflecting on a different stage of life. You can buy it through our Media page. This was another opportunity for us to work with Bill Hare, and Danny Ozment of Emerald City Productions.

Educational Work...
... is important to us. We have spent time developing a UK-based Education Outreach Programme, which has taken us to establishments like Oundle School, Bedford Modern School, Dean Close School and Tewkesbury School, inspiring enthused kids, judging music competitions and festivals and working with talented junior a cappella groups - we love working with other singers and educational work is an important part of our vocation.
"One of those groups I could listen to for hours.”
