The Songmen require a versatile high Baritone or flexible tenor to start in July 2010.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable in all a cappella musical styles, with the ability blend and listen and take any vibrato off the voice when necessary. Excellent sightreading and aural skills are essential and the chosen candidate will have impeccable tuning and rhythm and will be expected to perform to a high standard both as part of an the Songmen ensemble and as a soloist within the ensemble.

The Songmen are a professional male voice a cappella group based in Gloucestershire and although the position is not a full time position it is envisaged that it could become so in the next 24-36 months. The group does not use deputies. Much of the Songmen repertoire is performed from memory.

The first round of auditions will be held on Saturday May 29th 2010 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

The successful candidate will be expected to shadow the group immediately after appointment for a period of 2 months where they will get used to working methods and learn a large part of the group's repertoire before their first concert in Germany on September 10th 2010.
